Senator Kenny spoke at a conference held at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario entitled “Defence Acquisition: Building Canada’s Future Military Forces”. Senator Kenny delivered the keynote speakers address on Monday December 1, 2003. He commented on issues relating to: defence spending over the next five years, capital acquisition required by the Canadian Forces, a new role for the militia, and changing the procurement process in the Department of National Defence.

Senator Kenny was a guest speaker at the opening ceremonies at Ottawa’s Super Ex. The 2003 Super Ex theme was ‘Salute to the Armed Forces’ and Senator Kenny spoke about a guest book that was to be sent over to Kabul, Afghanistan to the Canadian troops helping in the peacekeeping mission. Visitors of the Super Ex were asked to sign the guest book and demonstrate to our troops that Canadians appreciate their sacrifice and support their mission.
