2000-2001    Senator Kenny was Rapporteur of the NATO Parliamentary Association, Defence and Security committee.

In 1994, Senator Kenny was a member (see proof) of the Special Joint Committee on Canada's Defence Policy who's committee report was adopted almost entirely in the Government's 1994 White Paper on Defence.

From this background stems his concern of ensuring Canada's troops are properly equipped to maintain our important peace keeping role and protect our sovereignty.
